Six-year partnership evolves into technology alliance, accelerating global energy transition.
11 December 2025 – Wärtsilä & RCT Power have celebrated the delivery of more than 10,000 Quantum energy storage systems, marking another major milestone in their six-year partnership. The achievement was commemorated at a ceremony held at RCT Power’s headquarters.
The collaboration, which started in 2019, entered a deeper phase in July 2025 when the companies signed a technology licensing agreement. This shift—from supply partnership to innovation alliance—combines Wärtsilä’s global energy storage integration expertise with RCT Power’s storage technology and manufacturing strength.
“Passing 10,000 units reflects the strength of our joint execution and shared vision for a decarbonized grid,” said Gianpiero Rocca, the Sourcing Director of Wärtsilä. “RCT Power’s technical excellence and scalable production have been key to meeting growing global demand.”
Production has accelerated significantly since the 6,000th unit was delivered in October 2024, with 4,000 additional units completed in just over a year.
Notably, RCT Power’s EPZ manufacturing site—certified as a “Zero Carbon Factory” by TÜV Rheinland in 2024—ensures that each Quantum system is a sustainable product from the start.
